the latest data shows that in the first quarter of 2023, thailand's natural rubber production will reach 1.52 million tons, an increase of 19.1% from 1.27 million tons in the same period last year. in terms of specific varieties, the output of smoked sheet rubber decreased by 8.1% year-on-year; standard rubber decreased by 23.1% year-on-year; latex increased by 35.4% year-on-year; mixed rubber increased by 4.6% year-on-year.
in the first quarter, the domestic consumption of natural rubber was 370,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.8%, compared with 330,000 tons in the same period last year. in terms of specific varieties, the consumption of smoked sheet rubber decreased by 23.8% year-on-year; standard rubber increased by 64.4% year-on-year; latex increased by 56.7% year-on-year; mixed rubber decreased by 62.4% year-on-year.
in addition, as of march, thailand's natural rubber inventory was 910,000 tons, n 12% year-on-year and 1.5% month-on-month. among them, smoked sheet rubber accounted for 6%; standard rubber accounted for 13%; latex accounted for 14%; mixed rubber accounted for 3%; others accounted for 65%.
