according to the national standard gb8075-2005, 27 types of concrete admixtures are defined. they are:
1. ordinary water-reducing admixtures: when the slump of concrete is basically the same, it can reduce mixing water amount of admixture.
2. early strength agent: an admixture that accelerates the early strength development of concrete.
3. retarder: an admixture that prolongs the setting time of concrete.
4. air-entraining agent: an admixture that introduces a large number of uniformly distributed, stable and closed micro-bubbles during the mixing of concrete.
5. high-efficiency water-reducing admixture: an admixture that can significantly reduce the amount of mixing water when the slump of concrete is basically the same.
6. early-strength water-reducing admixture: an admixture with both early-strength and water-reducing functions
7. retarded water-reducing admixture: an admixture with both retarding and water-reducing functions admixtures
8. air-entraining and water-reducing admixtures: admixtures with both air-entraining and water-reducing functions
9. waterproofing agents: can reduce the water permeability of concrete under hydrostatic pressure of admixtures.
10. rust inhibitor: an admixture that can inhibit or reduce the corrosion of steel bars or other embedded metals in concrete.
11. air-entraining agent: an admixture that releases gas due to chemical reactions during the concrete preparation process, resulting in the formation of a large number of pores in the concrete.
12. expansion agent: an admixture that can cause a certain volume expansion of concrete.
13. antifreeze: an admixture that can harden concrete at negative temperatures and achieve sufficient antifreeze strength within a specified time.
14. accelerating admixture: an admixture that can quickly solidify and harden concrete.
15. pumping agent: an admixture that can improve the pumping performance of concrete mixtures.
16. coagulant: an admixture that can shorten the coagulation time of the mixture.
17. retarding and high-efficiency water-reducing admixture: an admixture that has both retarding and efficient water-reducing functions.
18. colorant: an admixture that can prepare colored concrete
19. water-retaining agent: an admixture that reduces water loss in mortar and concrete.
20. flocculant: an admixture that can increase the viscosity of concrete and resist the separation of cement and aggregate during construction in water.
21. thickener: an admixture that increases the viscosity of the concrete mixture.
22. shrinkage reducing agent: an admixture that reduces the shrinkage of concrete.
23. plastic retaining agent: an admixture that reduces the slump loss of concrete within a certain period of time.
there are other things that are not specified in the standards but have been widely used in projects:
pumping antifreeze: an admixture with both pumping and antifreeze functions.
pumpable waterproofing agent: an admixture with both pumping and waterproofing functions.
