zinc stearate is a white powder, insoluble in water, soluble in heat it contains organic solvents such as ethanol, benzene, toluene, and turpentine; it decomposes into stearic acid and corresponding salts when exposed to acids; it is a fire hazard under dry conditions, with an auto-ignition point of 900°c; it is hygroscopic.
reminder: due to the physical and chemical properties of zinc stearate, the following aspects need to be paid attention to when storing zinc stearate:
lined with plastic bag, outer woven bag or sack packaging. store in a cool, dry and ventilated place, away from fire sources;
tightly seal the packaging to prevent moisture;
the storage temperature should not be too high. store in a cool, ventilated warehouse;
keep away from fire and heat sources (auto-ignition point 900°c);
avoid generating dust;
should be kept away from oxidants and acids. store them separately and avoid mixed storage (when encountering acids, they will decompose into stearic acid and corresponding salts, causing their deterioration);
equipped with fire-fighting equipment of corresponding varieties and quantities. suitable materials should be available in the storage area to contain spills.
