oleyl alcohol is a colorless or light yellow oily liquid. the melting point is 6-7℃, the boiling point is 205-210℃ (2kpa), the relative density is 0.8489 (20/4℃), and the refractive index is 1.4606. soluble in ethanol and ether, insoluble in water. there are irritating fumes when heated.
oleyl alcohol can be used as the following additives:
1. used to make detergents; wetting agents; defoaming agents; metal cutting disinfectants lubricants; plasticizers and fabric softeners.
2. used as raw material for organic synthesis and special surfactants, and can be used to produce oil additives, cold-resistant auxiliary plasticizers, lubricants and solvents, etc.
3. fat-enriching agent is a raw material for producing wetting agents, emulsifiers, detergents, and dispersants. it is also suitable for use as oily components in cosmetics and pharmaceutical preparations.
4. due to its lilac scent, its formate and acetate can be used in the preparation of flavors, high-grade solvents and deodorants.
