the guangdong integrated base project was announced in july 2018 and officially launched in november 2019. this is ‘s largest overseas investment project so far, with an estimated total investment of about us$10 billion, and will be independently constructed and operated by . after completion, the base will become ‘s third largest integrated production base in the world, second only to ludwigshafen, germany, and antwerp, belgium. the first batch of devices in the project will produce engineering plastics and thermoplastic polyurethane (tpu). the first device is expected to be put into operation in 2022, so as to meet the needs of customers in various growth industries in south china and the entire asian market.
