foreign media news on june 20: the international copper research group (icsg) released a monthly report on tuesday, saying that in april 2023, the global refined copper market had a surplus of 42,000 tons, compared with 3,000 tons in march.
the icsg said that global refined copper production was 2.307 million tons and consumption was 2.265 million tons.
in the first four months of this year, the global refined copper market had a surplus of 384,000 tonnes, compared with a deficit of 43,000 tonnes a year earlier, the icsg said.
the report cites chinese official data showing that in the first four months of 2023, china's refined copper production increased by 15%, and apparent demand increased by 7%; refined copper consumption in the rest of the world increased by 3%.
