southeast asian countries have a wide demand for tdi, pmdi and mmdi products in end industries such as upholstered furniture industry, construction industry and textile industry. however, due to the lack of production capacity, the consumption of isocyanate in southeast asian countries is supplied by chinese, japanese and korean manufacturers. the following will analyze the import situation of tdi, pmdi and mmdi products in southeast asia in july 2022.
tdi
in july 2022, southeast asian countries will import from chinese, japanese and korean manufacturers12,696 tons of tdi, an increase of 34.2% over the same month in 2021. among southeast asian countries, the top four in terms of tdi consumption in july 2022 are indonesia, vietnam, the philippines and malaysia.
among the major tdi consuming countries, indonesiatdi consumption in july 2022 will continue to lead southeast asia, and achieved a growth of 31.2% compared with the same period last year. on the one hand, indonesia achieved exports of us$25.6 billion in july, a year-on-year increase of 32%. the continuous growth of the country's exports has driven the upholstered furniture exports. on the other hand, car sales in indonesia reached 86,000 in july, an increase of nearly 30% year-on-year. the growth of the terminal automobile consumption market has led to the increase of tdi consumption in the upstream raw material market.
