against the background of rising natural gas and energy prices in europe, on august 17 local time, europe released the price increase letter stated that due to the fluctuation of natural gas and energy prices in europe, the price of mdi, polyether and composite materials in the european market will be increased by 200 euros/ton (according to the exchange rate of 1 euro = 6.8412 yuan, the increase is approximately equal to 1,368 yuan rmb/ton). the price increase will take effect from september 1, 2022, or as permitted by the contract.
before the announcement of the price increase, the german chemical giant had expected that there would be no natural gas surcharge globally, energy costs could increase by as much as 2.2 billion euros in 2022, more than three times the 2020 level. the new surcharge will bring an additional burden of at least three million euros per year. high energy costs endanger the competitiveness of the german economy.
