foreign media news on july 5: according to the chilean government agency cochilco on wednesday, chile's total copper production in may fell by 14% year-on-year to 408,200 tons. production at state-owned giant codelco fell 22.4% year-on-year to 110,900 tonnes, while output at collahuasi, a joint venture between anglo american and glencore, fell 11.8% to 43,200 tonnes. cochilco said production at the escondida copper mine fell 21.5% to 83,900 tonnes. the copper mine is controlled by anglo-australian mining giant bhp billiton.
